Yes. IPGeolocation.io offers annual and multi-year contracts. Annual billing on every paid API plan gives you two months free. Enterprise API contracts and database contracts run for up to three years as standard, and a multi-year term lowers the price.

* * *

## Which option fits your team

The right option depends on how settled your usage is and whether you use the IPGeolocation.io API or its databases.

* **Monthly API plan:** your traffic is still changing. You commit one month at a time and can change plans as your usage settles.
* **Annual API plan:** your traffic is steady or seasonal. You get two months free, and the year's credits arrive as one allowance that a busy month can draw on.
* **Enterprise API contract:** you need custom volume pricing, invoicing, or contract terms, including a multi-year term of up to three years.
* **Database contract:** you run lookups on your own servers. Contracts are yearly, for one to three years, and longer terms cost less.

If you're not sure, start monthly. Once a few months of usage show what you need, you can switch to annual in the middle of a month, and what's left of that month's payment comes off your annual charge.

## Annual billing on API plans

Every paid IPGeolocation.io API plan, from Starter to Premium, can be billed annually, and you'll get about 17% off compared with monthly billing. Starter, for example, costs $19 a month, or $190 a year on annual billing instead of $228 for 12 monthly payments, a saving of $38. You'll find [every plan's monthly and annual price](https://ipgeolocation.io/pricing.html) on our pricing page.

The bigger change is how credits arrive. An annual plan grants the whole year's credits up front, 12 times the monthly allowance: 1,800,000 credits on Starter instead of 150,000 each month. You can spend them unevenly across the year, and they reset when the plan renews. Credits you haven't used by then expire; they don't carry into the next year. Each request uses the same number of credits on monthly and annual plans, as our guide to [how each request is charged in credits](https://ipgeolocation.io/help/how-ipgeolocation-io-credits-work) shows.

Seasonal traffic is where the yearly allowance pays off. Take an example Starter customer that uses 100,000 credits in each of 11 months and 400,000 in its busiest month. On monthly billing, that month goes 250,000 credits over the 150,000 allowance. Overage, which is on by default, bills the extra as 10 blocks of 25,000 credits at $5 each: $50 on top of the month's $19. On annual billing, the busy month draws on the 1,800,000-credit allowance, and the year's 1,500,000 credits fit inside it, so there's no overage at all. Over the year, that customer pays $278 on monthly billing and $190 on annual.

If an annual plan does run through its yearly allowance, overage is counted over the year. Extra credits are billed at renewal in the same blocks as on monthly plans, $5 per 25,000 credits on Starter, and the surcharge cap applies once a year instead of once a month: $500 on Starter and Plus, $1,000 on Pro, Business, and Premium. For example, an annual Starter plan that uses 2,000,000 credits in its year goes 200,000 over its 1,800,000 allowance and is billed 8 blocks, or $40, at renewal. Once the cap is reached, or if you've turned overage off, the API returns HTTP 429 until the plan renews, which could be months away, so watch your usage in the dashboard if your traffic is hard to predict.

## Switching to annual billing, renewal, and cancellation

You can move a monthly plan to annual billing from your account at any point in the month. The annual cycle starts on the day you switch. The part of your monthly payment you haven't used yet comes off the annual charge, so you don't pay twice for the same month. For example, switching Starter halfway through a month takes about $9.50 off the $190 annual charge.

API credits left over from the month don't move across. Your usage counter resets to zero, and you start on the full annual allowance. If you'd already gone past your monthly allowance, that overage isn't billed; it comes off the new annual allowance instead. For example, if you've used 170,000 credits on monthly Starter when you switch, the 20,000 over the allowance aren't billed, and your annual allowance starts at 1,780,000 credits.

Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period, so an annual plan renews a year after it starts, and any overage from that year is billed then. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard. A canceled annual plan keeps working until the end of the year you've paid for and doesn't renew. For example, if you cancel in the fifth month, the plan keeps working through the end of the twelfth month and then stops. Refunds follow the [Cancellation & Refund Policy in the IPGeolocation.io Terms of Service](https://ipgeolocation.io/tos.html).

## Enterprise contracts for the API

An Enterprise contract is a custom agreement for the IPGeolocation.io API. We price it on your volume, with volume discounts and custom overage pricing, set the contract terms around your deployment, onboard your team, and invoice you.

Enterprise contracts run for up to three years as standard, and a multi-year contract gets a 10% discount. If you need a longer term, we're open to discussing it. Enterprise-level contracts are paid on Net 45 terms, which means each invoice is due 45 days after it's issued. For example, an invoice issued on March 1 is due by April 15.

To set one up, [talk to our sales team](https://ipgeolocation.io/contact.html) about your expected volume and the term you want, or [book a call with sales](https://ipgeolocation.io/book-a-meeting.html).

## Database contracts run one to three years

IPGeolocation.io sells its databases on yearly subscriptions only, with no monthly option, and a contract can run for one to three years. The longer you commit, the lower the price, and a multi-year database contract locks the price for the whole term. For example, on a three-year contract, years two and three cost what year one does. Every database release we publish during the term is included, daily or weekly depending on your plan.

If you change license type during the term, for example from End-User to Site, your billing period stays the same and we prorate the new license's price for the time left. The license types themselves are explained in [how our database licensing works](https://ipgeolocation.io/help/how-ipgeolocation-io-database-licensing-works).

At the end of the term, we agree the renewal price with you, taking into account how your usage has grown and your requirements have changed. If you don't renew, you keep the files you've already downloaded, but updates stop.

To get a quote, use the [database quote form](https://ipgeolocation.io/ip-geolocation-database.html#contact-us-for-quote) and mention the term you want along with the databases you need.

## FAQ

### Is annual billing cheaper than monthly billing?

**Answer:** Yes. Annual billing on IPGeolocation.io API plans gives you two months free, about 17% off compared with paying monthly. On the Starter plan, that's $190 a year instead of $228.

### Do annual plan credits reset every month?

**Answer:** No. An annual IPGeolocation.io plan grants the whole year's credits when the year starts, 12 times the monthly allowance, and resets them when the plan renews. Unused credits expire at renewal and don't carry into the next year.

### Which payment methods does IPGeolocation.io accept?

**Answer:** Monthly IPGeolocation.io API plans take credit or debit cards and PayPal. Annual API plans also accept wire transfer. Database contracts accept cards, PayPal, and wire transfer, and can be paid against an invoice or a purchase order.

### Does IPGeolocation.io have a minimum contract term?

**Answer:** It depends on the product. API plans at IPGeolocation.io are paid one billing period at a time, a month or a year, and you can cancel before the next one starts. Database contracts run for at least one year.

## What a paid IPGeolocation.io plan covers

Whichever term you choose, one call to the IPGeolocation.io [IP Geolocation API](https://ipgeolocation.io/ip-location-api.html) on a paid plan returns geolocation, security, ASN, company, abuse contact, time zone, and user agent data. The security data carries risk signals such as VPN, proxy, and Tor detection and a threat score. Our downloadable databases carry the same location, security, ASN, company, and abuse contact data for lookups on your own servers.

Compare [API plans and prices](https://ipgeolocation.io/pricing.html) and [database tiers](https://ipgeolocation.io/db-pricing.html), or ask our sales team to price a multi-year term for your volume
